Zero Telemetry & Absolute Device Privacy

Clap to Find operates entirely on your physical hardware. Vertex Apps does not collect, sell, harvest, or transmit your personal data, keystrokes, app preferences, or telemetry to external servers. Your device is your sanctuary.

1. Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the official Android mobile application Clap to Find engineered by Vertex Apps ("Studio", "we", "our", or "us").

Clap to Find is a smart Android phone finder and anti-theft alarm utility. Find your phone with a clap, customize preset or manual audio alarms, and secure your device with charger unplug alerts. Our studio architecture follows the strict principle of minimal privilege and complete local isolation. We believe that modern mobile applications do not require cloud surveillance to provide exceptional user utility.

2. Information Collection and Storage

Clap to Find does not collect, store, or log personally identifiable information (PII). All user-generated configurations, workflows, and inputs remain exclusively within your device's private sandbox:

  • Local On-Device Preferences: Settings, display configurations, user toggles, and saved states are saved strictly in Android Room SQLite or EncryptedSharedPreferences on your physical hardware.
  • Zero Cloud Infrastructure: Vertex Apps does not maintain remote user databases or backend servers for this application. There are no accounts to create, passwords to remember, or profile data harvested.
  • Zero Keystroke / Behavioral Logging: We do not track, intercept, or log keystrokes, typed text, screen usage frequency, geographic coordinates, or interaction histories.
  • Local File Export & Backup: Any backup, export, or theme files generated within the application are saved directly to your local file system where you explicitly specify.
  • Ephemeral Audio Processing (Microphone): Acoustic sound input captured for real-time clap pattern detection is processed exclusively within transient, volatile memory (RAM) and immediately discarded. No audio recordings are ever created, stored on device disk storage, or transmitted off your physical device.

3. Android System Permissions

To execute its native functions on Android (API 26+), Clap to Find may request minimal operating system permissions. Each permission is requested transparently:

Microphone & Clap Sensing (RECORD_AUDIO)

Used exclusively for real-time acoustic clap pattern detection to trigger the locator alarm. Audio input is analyzed entirely in volatile RAM and is never recorded, stored on disk, or transmitted to any server.

Charger Disconnection (Power State)

Monitors charging state locally via Android system broadcast receivers. When charger unplug protection is armed, disconnecting the charging cable immediately triggers an anti-theft alarm.

Custom Audio Upload & Media Access

Required only if you choose to import your own custom alarm ringtones from device storage. Your selected audio files remain strictly on your physical hardware and are never uploaded.

Foreground Service & Notifications

Allows the protection service to run reliably while your screen is locked or turned off, accompanied by a clear persistent status bar indicator with 1-tap quick disable controls.

Audio & Volume Override

Used to sound alarm ringtones at maximum audible volume so you can locate your misplaced phone even when your device is placed in silent or vibrate mode.

100% Offline / Zero Cloud Telemetry

Clap to Find operates entirely offline on your physical hardware. We do not operate remote tracking servers, cloud profiles, or behavioral analytics.

4. Third-Party Services & Network Activity

Because Clap to Find is designed to operate locally on-device, it does not transmit data to advertising networks, user-profiling exchanges, or tracking services.

Standard operating system integrations provided by Google Play Services (such as APK license verification, in-app billing for studio support, or anonymous crash reports aggregated by Google Play Console) operate under Google's Privacy Policy. Vertex Apps has no direct access to individual Google Play account IDs.

5. Data Retention, Export & Deletion

Since all data is localized to your physical hardware, you maintain perpetual and irrevocable authority over your records:

  • In-App Controls: You may edit, clear, or reset application preferences directly inside the app's settings menu at any time.
  • System Clear Data: Navigating to Android Settings → Apps → Clap to Find → Storage → Clear Storage / Data will completely wipe all local SQLite databases, caches, and key-value stores.
  • Uninstalling: Uninstalling the application removes all application-private storage sandbox partitions permanently from your device.

6. Children's Privacy & Family Safety

Clap to Find is a general-audience utility suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Families Policy. If you have reason to believe a minor has provided data, please contact us immediately for assistance.
